Annually, our school programs and outreach connect with hundreds of teachers and thousands of students across the state. Rolling Thunder Book Bus

The Rolling Thunder Book Bus, presented by American Fidelity, is a statewide program that inspires children, grades K-5 to develop a love for reading. The Book Bus is a truck and custom-built trailer that carries over 3,000 fiction & non-fiction books. The exterior of the Book Bus is decked out with Thunder colors and built-in television that allows us to showcase videos. Inside, you’ll find the shelves loaded with books, a locker with player autographs, jersey, player shoes and Thunder swag.

Rumble Rallies

Rumble Rallies bring the Thunder Experience - and everyone’s favorite mascot - right to your classroom! Use Rumble to work with your pre-k through fourth-grade students through interactive activities that cover topics including: STEM, Back to school, Test prep and more.

Field Trip Day

Field Trip Day has become an annual tradition for the Oklahoma City Blue, the G League affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder. School groups, families, and other fans come from all over the state to experience this special game atmosphere. The unique game experience pairs the excitement of basketball with an educational focus on STEM curriculum and live demonstrations from members of Science Museum Oklahoma.

Thunder Regional Spelling Bee

The Thunder Regional Spelling Bee gives schools an opportunity to host local spelling bee competitions and the 25 top-scoring champions will advance to compete in the Thunder Regional Spelling Bee for a chance to attend the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.

Devon Thunder Explorers

In partnership with Devon Energy, Devon Thunder Explorers offers teachers monthly activities that engage fourth-sixth grade students and challenge them to think outside the box, developing problem-solving skills through STEM principles.

Thunder Math Hoops

Thunder Math Hoops, presented by Devon Energy, is a fast-paced board game and mobile app that teaches students fundamental math skills through the basketball statistics of their favorite NBA and WNBA players.

Black Heritage Creative Contest

The Thunder is proud to host the Black Heritage Creative Contest presented by Sprite in celebration of Black History Month each year. High School students throughout Oklahoma are invited to create art that depicts a person, moment or experience in Black History that has personally inspired or impacted them.

Thunder Fellows

To address the prevalent opportunity and racial wealth gaps in our community, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Creative Arts Agency (CAA) established an innovative afterschool program in Tulsa's historic Greenwood District. Thunder Fellows unlocks new opportunities in sports, entertainment, and technology for Black high school and college students in the Tulsa area by equipping students with knowledge, skills and connections that can lead to careers in professional sports, entertainment and technology.
