Rumble the Bison Wins Mascot Community Impact Award

Rumble the Bison, mascot for the Oklahoma City Thunder, was named winner of the NBA Mascot Conference’s Community Impact Award. This inaugural award was given at the NBA Mascot Conference last week in San Antonio, Texas.

“Rumble is the shining example of what a mascot should be both in-game and in the community” said John Leach, director of Events and Entertainment. “We are immensely proud to have Rumble as the Thunder mascot and thank the other NBA mascots for this honor.”

Rumble was selected by his fellow NBA mascots from around the league based on his community impact, involvement, and brand exposure off the court from the 2021-22 season. Rumble had more than 190 community appearances last season, engaging with 75,000 fans at those appearances.

“Rumble’s genuine love for his work is exemplified in everything he does," said Christine Berney, vice president of Community Engagement. "He sets the standard across the League and has the biggest heart of any Bison I know!"
