Fans Encouraged to Wear Blue for Season Finale

OKLAHOMA CITY, Tuesday, April 7, 2009 – The Oklahoma City Thunder announced today a fan campaign for the season finale on Friday, April 10 vs. the Charlotte Bobcats. As part of the Thunder’s Fan Appreciation Month, Be Loud, Be Proud, Wear Blue is the theme for Friday’s game, and all Thunder fans are asked to wear blue Thunder gear to paint the Ford Center blue.

“We appreciate the fantastic support our fans have provided all season and anticipate an emotional finale to our inaugural season in the Ford Center,” said Thunder Senior Vice President of Ticket Sales & Service Brian Byrnes. “Our fans have really connected with our brand and become integrated into the ‘Thunder Experience’. Wearing your Thunder Blue on Friday night is a great way to unite our fans in a show of support for our team.”

As part of Fan Appreciation month, fans will also have the opportunity to bid on actual game-worn home Thunder jerseys at Friday night’s game. All player jerseys from Friday night’s game will be auctioned off in a silent auction taking place throughout the night. The silent auction will be located outside the Thunder Shop in the Ford Center and will conclude 10 minutes after the final buzzer. The game worn jerseys will come straight from the locker room to the winning bidders Friday night.

A full-blown, pregame block party transforming Reno Avenue into Thunder Alley will precede Friday night’s game. Thunder Alley events begin at 2 p.m. The Rolling Thunder Book Bus will be on display in Thunder Ally, and entertainment includes concessions, a stage with performing bands 80’s Enough, Kelsey Humphreys Band and Metal Shop, appearances by the Thunder Girls, Rumble the Bison and the Cox Drummers, interactive games that include a mechanical bull, climbing wall, dunk tank, bungee run, guitar hero and moon bounce. Reno Avenue, in front of the Ford Center, will be closed between Robinson and E.K. Gaylord.

Also as a culmination of Fan Appreciation month, one lucky fan will win a new Ford F-150 truck. The winner will be chosen from the 40 fans throughout the season who were selected as part of the Ford F-150 Drive to a Sellout campaign.

Finally, the Thunder Shop in the Ford Center will have select merchandise discounted by 40%, which includes all women’s apparel.
