Thunder and OG&E Honor Oklahoma City Firefighter

Maj. Lance Jones is November OG&E Safety Partner Award recipient

OKLAHOMA CITY, Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023 – The Oklahoma City Thunder and OG&E will honor Maj. Lance Jones from the Oklahoma City Fire Department as the November OG&E Safety Partner Award recipient, Monday, Nov. 27, 12 p.m., Fire Station 1 Rig Room, 820 NW 5th St, Oklahoma City. During the celebration the Thunder and OG&E will present Jones with a donation to the Oklahoma City Fire Department. The event is free and open to the public.   

Jones will also be recognized at the Thunder vs Utah Jazz game Dec. 11.  

“Major Jones is a positive force for good in our community and a driving force for hope,” said Spencer Browne, community affairs manager at OG&E. “Beyond his role on the Oklahoma City Fire Department, his work with Hope Community Service on the opiate overdose response team is instrumental in helping our friends and neighbors in Oklahoma City struggling with opioid addiction. We are thrilled to honor Jones’ service and selflessness to keeping our community safe with this award.”

The OG&E Safety Partner Award is a partnership between OG&E and the Thunder to recognize first responders across Oklahoma who exhibit the values of teamwork, integrity, public service, individual safety, and well-being.
