Thunder Launches Thunder Rookies Club

Digital platform includes exclusive prizes and experiences for kids

OKLAHOMA CITY, Monday, Dec. 4, 2023 – The Oklahoma City Thunder has announced a new, free, online program for kids called Thunder Rookies Club.

With the help of Science Museum Oklahoma, young Thunder fans can earn points through digital engagements to redeem exclusive team prizes, experiences, and Science Museum Oklahoma admission. Activities include trivia, digital games, voting polls, live and pre-recorded engagements, and more. Participants can also earn points by logging in each day, attending in-person Thunder games and exclusive events, and watching Thunder games at home.

Families can also sign up for a $35 annual subscription to Thunder Rookies Club+. Club+ participants receive a welcome kit, discounts to Thunder youth activities, and access to additional Thunder prizes.

As the official educational partner of Thunder Rookies Club, Science Museum Oklahoma will also provide STEM engagement videos for subscribers, science trivia, digital micro-games and other educational elements.

“We’re excited to launch another way for young fans to get involved with the Thunder,” said Tanner Sikes, Thunder manager of Youth Programs. “Providing a digital engagement platform allows us to connect with fans across the globe and introduce them to Thunder Basketball as well as promoting education and STEM in a fun and interactive way.”

“STEM is such a passion for youth lately,” said Tara Simmons, Science Museum Oklahoma vice president of Development. “We can’t wait for fans to see what we come up with!”
