76ers Summer League Preview

SLC Summer League Report | July 7, 2022

The 76ers are set for their third and final outing at Salt Lake City Summer League Thursday, facing the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Summer Sixers got their first win Wednesday versus Utah, led by strong showings from Charles Bassey, Trevelin Queen, and Charlie Brown Jr.

Isaiah Joe, Paul Reed, and Jaden Springer were out Wednesday (reconditioning).

Wednesday’s Key Contributors 

Charles Bassey

  • Bassey scored a game-high 17 points, plus nine rebounds and four steals in 26 minutes of play. Bassey shot 7-for-12 from the field.

Trevelin Queen

  • In Queen’s Summer League debut as a 76er, he finished with 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals, finishing at a game-high +19. 
  • Queen shot 5-for-12 from the field and 4-for-4 from the foul line in 21 minutes of play.

Charlie Brown Jr.

  • Brown totaled 12 points, three rebounds, and two steals Wednesday, shooting 4-for-7 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line.
  • Powell finished with 13 points, two rebounds, three assists, and four steals in 17 minutes of play.

Wednesday’s meeting with the Thunder marks the last of three games the Sixers will play in Salt Lake City, before traveling to Las Vegas Summer League.

The team’s Las Vegas Summer League slate begins Saturday.

Opponent Outlook:

The Thunder are undefeated in Salt Lake City Summer League thus far, most recently notching an 87-71 win over the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday.

Josh Giddey notched a triple-double in the win, finishing with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. Jalen Williams scored a team-high 16 points, plus three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Chet Holmgren notched a 11-point, 12-rebound double-double.
