Alex Len
At a glance: 7-1, 255 pounds, 20 years old
2012-13 stats: 26.4 minutes, 11.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.1 blocks per game
How he got here: Drafted No. 5 overall in 2013
What he brings to the table: Incredible size coupled with an active motor around the rim and a surprisingly good jump shot. That's just right now. The Suns drafted him with an eye on what Len can become: an exceptional, multi-threat NBA big man. The 2013-14 season is the start of that potential coming to life, a process Head Coach Jeff Hornacek is eager to begin with Len and the Suns' other young talents.
Goal: Get up to NBA speed, refine low post game
Best game in college: Nov. 9 vs. Kentucky. Against another NBA-bound big man in Nerlens Noel, Len put on a show in a nationally televised contest between the Terrapins and the Wildcats. He finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds (seven on the offensive glass) and four blocks, cementing his status as an NBA Draft lottery talent.
