2013-14 Player Preview: Viacheslav Kravtsov

Viacheslav Kravtsov

At a glance: 6-11, 254 pounds, 26 years old

2012-13 stats: 9.0 minutes, 3.1 points, 1.8 rebounds per game and 71.7 percent shooting

How he got here: Acquired on Aug. 29, 2013, in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks

What he brings to the table: Post presence. The Ukrainian big man has a knack for filling the lane on defense and, more importantly, making plays there. He averaged two blocks per game in just 17 minutes per game during the first round of EuroBasket 2013. His defensive mind-set will make opposing teammates work hard for interior baskets in training camp.

Goal: More blocks, less fouls (6.9 fouls per 48 minutes in 2012-13)

Best game as a pro: Feb. 22, 2013 at Indiana. Kravtsov turned in an intriguing double-double against the Pacers’ vaunted frontline, finishing with 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds.
