2013-14 Player Preview: Ish Smith

Ish Smith

At a glance: 6-0, 175 pounds, 25 years old

2012-13 stats: 10.5 minutes, 2.4 points, 1.6 assists, 1.3 rebounds per game

How he got here: Acquired on Aug. 29, 2013, in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks

What he brings to the table: The former Wake Forest standout can stir a crowd with his slick handles and flair for the highlight play. He’s a pass-first point guard who's not afraid to attack the basket if the opportunity’s there, but is more than willing to create plays for athletic big men if they run the floor with him.

Goal: Improve 3-point shooting (29.6 percent in 2012-13)

Best game as a pro: Dec. 28, 2011 vs. New York: Playing for a Warriors’ team in search of an identity, Smith played 29 meaningful minutes in a big win against the recently relevant Knicks. The results were encouraging: 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
