Gerald Green
At a glance: 6-8, 210 pounds, 27 years old
2012-13 stats: 18.0 minutes, 7.0 points, 2.4 rebounds per game
How he got here: Acquired on July 27, 2013, in a trade with the Indiana Pacers
What he brings to the table: A ridiculous amount of athleticism, usually seen in highlight dunk form. The former NBA Slam Dunk champion is positively terrifying in the open court, though he has made the effort to become a more complete player in recent years. An improved outside shot and better decision-making have made him a legit rotation player, something he likely appreciates more than token highlight appearances.
Goal: Re-capture career year (12.9 points, 48.1 percent shooting in 2011-12)
Best game as a pro: April 8, 2012 vs. Cleveland. In a tight game against soon-to-be Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving and the Cavs, Green turned in the best game of a torrid late-season stretch with the Nets. He finished with 32 points on 11-of-18 shooting, including 5-of-7 from three-point range. He added five rebounds to his stat line and, more importantly a five-point win to the Nets' ledger.
