Joel Embiid Scores 52 Points in Home Win vs. the Celtics

The 76ers defeated the Celtics, 103-101, improving to 5-1 over their last six home games.

This win marked the 52nd of the season for Philadelphia, its most since finishing 52-30 in 2017-18.

Joel Embiid finished with 52 points on 20-of-25 shooting (12-13 FT), 13 rebounds, and six assists, marking his second game this season with at least 50 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. That ties Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain for the most such games in a single season in franchise history (2 - 1967-68).

Embiid is the first NBA player to produce 50-plus points, 10-plus rebounds, and five-plus assists against the Celtics since the 1971-72 season.

Embiid joins Chamberlain (twice) as the only players in NBA history with 50-10-5 on 80-percent-or-better shooting (Stathead).

Embiid has three 50-point double-doubles this season, tied for the most such games in the NBA this season (Stathead).

In the first half, Embiid scored 24 of his points, marking the All-Star’s 2,134th point of the season. That is the most in a season by a center since Shaquille O'Neal's MVP season in 1999-2000 (2,344), per ESPN Stats&Info.
