Sixers Take Game 2, Beat Nets Monday Night

The 76ers defeated the Brooklyn Nets, 96-84, in Game 2, taking a 2-0 lead in this best-of-seven series.

This marked Philadelphia's sixth consecutive playoff victory over Brooklyn, good for the team's second-longest playoff winning streak against any opponent.

Philadelphia outscored Brooklyn, 52-35, in the second half, marking the first time that the 76ers have limited an opponent to 35 or fewer points in the second half of any playoff game since May 4, 2012 vs. Chicago.

The 76ers held Brooklyn to 84 points on 37.5% shooting, marking the first time since May 12, 2019 (at TOR) that the 76ers held an opponent to 90-or-fewer points while shooting under 40.0% from the field. It's the team's seventh such game since the 2011 NBA Playoffs, good for fourth-most in the NBA over that span.

JOEL EMBIID finished with 20 points, a game-high 19 rebounds, and seven assists, marking his second career playoff game with at least 20 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists (4/20/19 at Brooklyn). He joins Hall of Famers WILT CHAMBERLAIN (20), DOLPH SCHAYES (5) and CHARLES BARKLEY (5) as the only players in franchise history with multiple such games in the postseason (Stathead).

Embiid's 20 points tonight moved him past Chamberlain for the 10th-most points in 76ers playoff history (NBA Courtside).

Fifteen of Embiid's 19 boards came in the first half, marking the most rebounds by a 76ers player in a single half of a postseason game over the last 25 seasons (ESPN Stats & Info).

JAMES HARDEN (942) tonight passed Hall of Famer Bob Cousy (937) for 16th all time on the NBA's playoff assist ledger.

TYRESE MAXEY scored a game-high 33 points on 13-of-23 shooting, including a playoff career-high six three-pointers. Maxey is the first 76er age 22-or-younger with 30-plus points and at least six made threes in a playoff game (Stathead).

TOBIAS HARRIS recorded 20 points (8-14 FG) and 12 rebounds, marking his 15th career playoff double-double (Stathead).
