THE RESULT
A Bobcats team playing without its two leading scorers (Gerald Henderson, 15.4 points; D.J. Augustin, 13.6 points) was unable to get on track offensively in a 92-75 loss on January 25 in Washington, dropping Charlotte to 3-16 on the season.

TURNING POINTS
The Wizards jumped out to a 14-point lead at the end of the first quarter led by 20 at the half. The Bobcats started the second half on an 11-4 run to pull within 13 points, only to see the Wizards respond with a 19-7 run of their own to push the to 25 and never look back.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Bobcats were beaten on the boards, 51-38, and Charlotte struggled from 3-point land, as they shot only 11 percent (1 of 9). A positive was the defensive effort of Tyrus Thomas (nine blocks) and Bismack Biyombo (four blocks), who combined for all of the team’s 13 blocks. Thomas set a career high and was only one block short of tying franchise record.

BOBCATS PLAYERS OF THE GAME
Tyrus Thomas had his best game of the season, nearly recording a triple-double with 13 points, nine rebounds and the nine blocks.

Matt Carroll got his first start of the season at shooting guard and filled in nicely for the injured Henderson (back), leading the team with 17 points.

WIZARDS PLAYER OF THE GAME
The Wizards were led by power forward Andray Blatche with 17 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

INSIDE THE LOCKER ROOM
"He played tough. He played Dwight tough. He just backed him in under the basket and laid it in. He is a tough player, and he's about the toughest player I have on my team. It worked very well for us tonight. If we can continue this kind of play against teams not as good as the Magic, then I think we have a good shot."
- Bobcats Head Coach Paul Silas on Biyombo

"I felt we came out and played hard. We gave our best effort out there. We came up short but we are a missing a big core of our team right now due to injury. Guys are playing out of position and playing a lot more minutes than they are used too. It’s honestly a challenge. We are hanging in there, but the record right now isn’t in our favor"
- Bobcats Guard Matt Carroll

GAME NOTES
Cory Higgins continued to play well off the bench as he hit double-figures for the third time in four games with 13 points… The Bobcats had an unexpected scratch as Henderson was unable to go after being fouled hard on a dunk attempt by Jared Jeffries against the Knicks Tuesday night… The Bobcats welcomed back DJ White after missing two games due to a knee injury. White gave the Bobcats only two points in nine minutes of playing time… D.J. Augustin (right big toe), Corey Maggette (hamstring) and Reggie Williams (knee) all did not play.
