Matt Carrol - Analyst

A 10-year NBA veteran, who spent seven seasons playing for Charlotte, Matt Carroll provides a wealth of knowledge to each broadcast as the analyst for select home games. During his NBA career, Carroll appeared in 459 games, averaging 6.6 points while shooting 38.4% from three-point range and 84.1% from the free-throw line. He averaged career highs with 12.1 points and 26.1 minutes per game in 72 contests for Charlotte during the 2006-07 campaign. Along with his time in Charlotte, Carroll also played for Dallas, Portland, and San Antonio.  

In addition to his analyst duties on the Hornets Radio Network, Carroll is also the Director of Player Programs for the Hornets. In this role, he works with current Hornets players both in on-court (basketball skills, training) and off-court (appearances, community outreach) capacities.
Carroll also serves as a community ambassador for the Hornets, making appearances throughout the Queen City. He currently resides in Charlotte with his wife and four children.

Sam Farber - The Voice of the Hornets

Sam Farber joined the Charlotte Hornets as the team’s radio play-by-play announcer prior to the 2020-21 season.

Honing his craft as a play-by-play broadcaster since 2006, Farber most recently covered college basketball, baseball, football and various other sports for ESPN and Fox Sports from 2016-2020 prior to his arrival in the Queen City.

A native of San Jose, Farber is no stranger to the east coast, earning his Bachelors in Journalism from George Washington University. Farber continued his education in his home state of California, achieving a Masters in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California. Sam, along with his wife Lauren, currently reside in Charlotte with their two children and two dogs.

Rob Longo - Hornets Radio Network Manager

Since joining the Hornets Radio Network in January of 2021, Rob Longo is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the network, also while serving as the studio host and producer for all Hornets games.

Prior to joining the Hornets Radio Network, Longo worked as a studio host and producer for Learfield in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, producing and hosting radio broadcasts for schools such as Michigan, UConn, West Virginia, Ohio, St. John’s, Arkansas, South Carolina, Georgia, Rutgers, Boston College, Tulane and Houston.

A native of Beaver, Pennsylvania, Longo is an alumnus of Waynesburg University, where he was mentored by Lanny Frattare, the voice of the Pittsburgh Pirates for 33 seasons.
