Hornets To Expand Use of Mobile Ticketing For 2019-20 Season

September 25, 2019 – The Charlotte Hornets are expanding the use of mobile ticketing for the 2019-20 season, following the trend of teams and venues throughout the NBA and across the sports landscape.

Mobile ticketing is an easy and convenient process that helps patrons enter the arena faster and cuts down on waste from printed tickets. It also reduces the risk of lost, stolen or counterfeit tickets, as well as the chances of forgetting tickets at home. In addition to entering the arena, the technology allows users to manage tickets from a smartphone, including transfer and resale, just like the online account manager.

“As the industry transitions more toward the use of mobile technology, we are evolving with it, moving away from printed tickets and PDFs in order to focus on providing the positive aspects of mobile ticketing to even more of our fan base,” said Hornets President & Vice Chairman Fred Whitfield. “Mobile ticketing accounted for approximately half of all tickets scanned for entry during the 2018-19 season, and nearly 90% of Swarm365 Members used it at least once, so we are confident that our fans are prepared and will benefit from its use.”

After opening the Hornets App, users can tap the ticket icon in the header of the app screen or select “Tickets” from the app menu and select “Manage My Tickets.” From there, the user will be prompted to log in to his or her Charlotte Hornets or Ticketmaster account using the email and password used to purchase the tickets. Information and instructions are also available at hornets.com/app-faq.

Fans who do not have smartphones or who need assistance with mobile ticketing can contact Spectrum Center’s guest experience team at 704.688.8128, while season ticket holders may contact their personal account manager.

The Hornets are also partnering with Levy again this season to continue Fan-Friendly Pricing on several Spectrum Center concession items through the Hornets App. Fans using Express Ordering on the app will once again pay prices that are 35-45% below the normal menu prices on items including $3 pretzels, $4 hot dogs, $4 nachos, $6 popcorn and $3 22oz sodas. Express Ordering is located by selecting “Order Food & Gear” from the app menu.

Ticket packages on sale now for the 2019-20 season include Swarm365 Memberships, the 23-game FANtasy Pack, the 12-game Flight Pack and a pair of six-game Mini-Packs. Swarm365 Memberships start at $49 on average in the lower level and as low as $12 on average in the upper level, and members receive some of the best benefits in all of professional sports. The FANtasy Pack includes Opening Night and 22 additional games of the purchaser’s choice, starting at $53 per game on average in the lower level or $14 per game on average in the upper level. The Flight Pack includes upper-level tickets to the Warriors, Rockets, Lakers and Clippers, along with lower- or upper-level options for Opening Night and seven remaining games of the purchaser’s choice.
