The wait is over, as the Hornets were back in Charlotte for their home opener on Sunday after two close losses on the road.

The atmosphere was energizing, with Hornets colors being worn by the majority of the fans. It was great to see the amount of kids wearing team jerseys with Walker or Jefferson on their backs, showing that future fans of the Hornets are being cemented and the foundation is solid.

The Jeremy Lin impact was evident as a lot of fans were present to support their Harvard Prodigy, giving a new feel to the Charlotte-Style Linsanity! Jeremy is still that elusive player that delighted the Knicks fans just three years ago and we’re excited to see what he can do.

Everything came together for the game this afternoon with an almost sold-out game. The team was ready and the fans’ support was amazing, but the Atlanta Hawks did not cooperate and they beat our team by only two points.

Losing was not that important though, as the ambience was very special and the support for the team that our dear Michael Jordan has put together was unconditional. I hope that this support will grow once the team start getting positive results.

This Hornets have a lot of potential and the fans can help with getting behind this developing team – our team that is focused on going back to the playoffs. Come on Hornets! Come on Charlotte Fans! Let’s keep Time Warner Cable Arena full. Let’s enjoy every play, every point, every three-pointer at maximum intensity. We must enjoy our professional basketball team, our Charlotte Hornets!
