Pre-Draft Workout #4

In preparation for the 2023 NBA Draft on June 22, the Charlotte Hornets hosted a pre-draft workout on Saturday, May 27 featuring the following players:

Nikola Djurisic (G, Mega MIS/Serbia)

Djurisic (6-8, 215) averaged 13.0 points on 41.7% shooting, 3.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.0 steal in 30 appearances (28 starts) across all competitions on his way to the Adriatic League’s Top Prospect honors this season. The son of a former professional soccer and volleyball player, the 19-year-old was also the 2022 Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament MVP.

Cedric Henderson Jr. (G, Arizona)

A former three-year player at Campbell (2019-22), Henderson (6-6, 190) transferred to Arizona for his senior season and averaged 8.1 points on 46.2% shooting – 40.2% from 3-point range – 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 35 outings (20 starts). Henderson’s father, Cedric Sr., played 260 games over five NBA seasons with Cleveland and Golden State from 1997 to 2002.

Nadir Hifi (G, Le Portel/France)

The seventh-leading scorer in France’s LNB Pro A League averaged 16.8 points on 46.5% shooting – 34.5% from 3-point range – 2.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals over 33 games (29 starts) this past season. If or when he makes his league debut, the 20-year-old Hifi would become the first-ever NBA player born in Algeria.

Javan Johnson (F, DePaul)

Johnson (6-6, 205) closed out his collegiate career with averages of 14.4 points on 42.6% shooting – 41.2% from 3-point range – 4.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 33 starts this past season. Prior to enrolling at DePaul, Johnson spent two seasons at both Troy (2017-19) and Iowa State (2019-21; redshirted the 2019-20 campaign) before joining the Blue Demons in Chicago.

Taevion Kinsey (G, Marshall)

Marshall’s all-time leading scorer (2,641 points) averaged 22.1 points on 54.2% shooting – 40.4% from 3-point range – 4.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.7 steals over 32 starts as a fifth-year senior this past season. Kinsey (6-5, 190) is a three-time All-Conference USA honoree (2020, 2021 and 2022) and was recently named the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year. 

Judah Mintz (G, Syracuse)

Mintz (6-3, 172) recorded averages of 16.3 points on 44.3% shooting, 2.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.8 steals in 32 starts across his freshman season at Syracuse. This Oak Hill Academy product was also named to the 2023 ACC All-Freshman team after finishing eighth in the conference in points, fifth in assists and first in steals per game this year.
