Pre-Draft Workout #15

In preparation for the 2023 NBA Draft on June 22, the Charlotte Hornets hosted a pre-draft workout on Thursday, June 15 featuring the following players:

Damion Baugh (G, TCU)

Baugh (6-3, 185) recorded 12.6 points on 43.1% shooting – 33.0% from 3-point range – 4.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.8 steals across 29 starts his senior season, leading to Second-Team All-Big 12 honors. Formerly at Memphis (2019-21), he helped the Horned Frogs win NCAA Tournament games in each of the past two seasons after they had not done so once since 1987.

Keyontae Johnson (F, Kansas State)

A 2023 AP Third-Team All-American and the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, Johnson (6-5, 229) averaged 17.4 points on 51.6% shooting – 40.5% from 3-point range – 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steal in 36 starts as a fifth-year senior this past season. He spent his four collegiate campaigns at Florida (2018-22), where he was named 2020 First-Team All-SEC at a sophomore.

Mojave King (G, G League Ignite)

This New Zealand native averaged 8.1 points on 41.3% shooting, 4.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 30 games (eight starts) this past season with the G League Ignite. King (6-5, 194) previously played for Cairns Taipans (2020-21) in Australia’s NBL Next Stars program and spent time with the NBL’s Adelaide 36ers (2021-22) and the New Zealand NBL’s Southland Sharks (2022).

Marcio Santos (F, Franca/Brazil)

Santos (6-9, 253) tallied 8.0 points on 51.6% shooting and 4.4 rebounds in 56 total appearances (16 starts) for Franca in Brazil’s Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) this past season, his fourth with the club. Born in São Paulo, he recently helped Franca capture its first-ever Basketball Champions League Americans Championship with an 88-79 win over Flamengo in the title game on April 15.

Derrick Walker (F, Nebraska)

A Second-Team All-Big Ten Coaches selection, Walker (6-8, 232) averaged 13.6 points on 58.4% shooting, 7.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 27 starts as a fifth-year senior this past season. He began his career at Tennessee (2017-19), then transferred to Nebraska (redshirted the 2019-20 campaign), where he was teammates with current Hornet Bryce McGowens in 2021-22.

Eric Williams Jr. (G, San Diego)

Williams (6-6, 200) posted 14.6 points on 43.0% shooting – 35.9% from 3-point range – 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 23 outings (22 starts) as a fifth-year senior this past season. Prior to enrolling at San Diego, he spent two seasons at Duquesne (2017-19) and then three at Oregon (2019-22; redshirted the 2019-20 campaign) before joining the Toreros.
