Hornets Injury Update | 7/8/22

July 8, 2022 – The Charlotte Hornets announced today that guard Scottie Lewis underwent successful surgery yesterday to repair a fractured lower left leg. The surgery was performed at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas. Currently, there is no timetable for his return, but Lewis is expected to make a full recovery. Additional updates will be provided when available. Lewis suffered the injury during the team’s Summer League practice in Las Vegas on Thursday.

Lewis, who played collegiately at Florida, was selected in the second round (No. 56 overall) of the 2021 NBA Draft by the Hornets. He signed a two-way contract with Charlotte for the 2021-22 NBA season and appeared in two games for the Hornets and 32 games for the team’s G League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm. In 32 games with the Swarm, Lewis averaged 12.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 30.5 minutes per game.
