The YMCA partnered with the Charlotte Hornets at its Community Corner on Sunday, February 8 during the Washington Wizards game. Volunteers promoted the YMCA’s Camp Harrison at Herring Ridge, which is located just 90 minutes from Charlotte. Camp Harrison at Herring Ridge has more than 2,000 acres of woods, streams and trails centered around the private, 140-acre Lake Broyhill. Campers choose from more than 23 land activities including: archery, paintball, ropes course, sports and crafts. Each camper can also create their own personalized experience through activities like horseback riding, sporting clays or wakesports. Campers spend the morning on land and the afternoon enjoying lakefront and water activities including: kayaking, canoeing, water zip line, waterskiing, the “Blob” and the “Wet Willie.”
The camp’s activities are designed to provide campers with an exciting and safe experience. Camp Harrison is American Camping Association (ACA) accredited with a 4:1 camper to counselor ratio promoting an environment that helps children grow in spirit, mind and body.

Founded on the YMCA's Christian values, Camp Harrison is positioned to give campers an amazing summer experience whether it's their first time away from home or they have been camping for years. For more information, visit https://www.campharrison.org/.
