OPERATION HOMEFRONT
Operation Homefront partnered with the Charlotte Hornets at its Community Corner on Monday, January 19 during the Minnesota Timberwolves game. Operation Homefront is a national non-profit that leads more than 2,500 volunteers, providing emergency and other financial assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors. The organization has assisted thousands of military families since its inception in 2002. Nationally, recognized for superior performance by leading independent charity watchdog groups, 93 percent of total donations to Operation Homefront go directly to programs that provide support to military families. On Wednesday, January 21 the Mint Museum partnered with the Charlotte Hornets at its Community Corner during the Miami Heat game. The Mint Museum is a leading, innovative museum of international art and design committed to engaging and inspiring all members of our global community. Established as the first art museum in North Carolina in 1936, The Mint Museum has grown to include two dynamic facilities, Mint Museum Uptown and Mint Museum Randolph, and currently boasts one of the largest collections in the Southeast. The Mint proudly offers its visitors inspiring and transformative experiences through art from around the world via its renowned collections, exhibitions, educational programs and scholarship. At the Hornets Community Corner, Mint Museum volunteers gave away goodie bags and provided an opportunity to learn more about upcoming exhibitions and programs. Fans also had the opportunity to register for four drawings; one free family membership to the Mint Museum and three sets of tickets-for-two to see the exhibit Halston and Warhol: Silver and Suede. BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS
Tomorrow, Big Brothers Big Sisters will partner with the Charlotte Hornets at its Community Corner during the New York Knicks game.  For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. Big Brothers Big Sisters is the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, making meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country. The organization’s mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. At the Hornets Community Corner, Big Brothers Big Sisters will spread awareness about the program and upcoming events as well as educate Hornets fans about the need for mentors in the community.
