Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry Becomes the Official Pediatric Dentist of the Hornets

Multi-Year Partnership Launched During National Children’s Dental Health Month

CHARLOTTE – Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry and the Charlotte Hornets have announced a multi-year partnership to help raise awareness of oral health and make Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry the Official Pediatric Dentistry Partner of the Charlotte Hornets.

“Partnering with the Charlotte Hornets is a great opportunity for our practice, and for dentistry, as it provides a powerful platform and partner to create awareness about children’s dental health,” said Dr. David Moore of Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry. “Having worked with the Charlotte Hornets in the past, we know the value that the team brings to the table and how we can use the excitement of basketball to also educate the public on children’s dental health.”

The announcement comes during National Children’s Dental Health Month, when both organizations hope to educate families and fans about oral hygiene. According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the number one chronic disease for children is dental cavities. Tooth decay in children is five times more common than asthma, four times more common than early childhood obesity, and twenty times more common than diabetes. Left untreated, it can destroy children's teeth and have a strong, lasting effect on a child's overall general health.

“We’re excited to partner with Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry as it will strengthen our ability to make a positive impact in the lives of our younger fans and the Charlotte community,” said Hornets Executive Vice President and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer Pete Guelli. “Wellness is one of the key pillars of our Charlotte Hornets Foundation and we look forward to working together to raise awareness for dental health.”

As part of the partnership, Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry will have access to the Charlotte Hornets’ communications channels and in-arena platforms to educate fans and families. The practice will also team with the Hornets on community outreach events including those with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte, among others.

Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry has been providing quality care in the Charlotte area since 1988 for infants, children, and adolescents along with children with special emotional and healthcare needs. The practice has three locations in Greater Charlotte including offices in Midtown, Davidson and University. Learn more by visiting: https://www.cltpediatricdentistry.com/
