The Chicago Bulls have signed forward Kostas Antetokounmpo to a two-way contract. In accordance with team policy, terms of the contract were not announced.

Born in Athens, Greece, Antetokounmpo (6-10, 200) has appeared in 22 career games in three seasons, logging career averages of 1.0 points, 1.0 rebounds across 4.0 minutes per game. Prior to joining Chicago, Antetokounmpo spent time with the Los Angeles Lakers (2019-2021) and the Dallas Mavericks (2018-19).

Drafted in the second round (60th overall) of the 2018 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers, Antetokounmpo’s draft rights were traded to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for the draft rights to 54th overall pick and guard Shake Milton. Antetokounmpo later signed a two-way deal with the Mavericks in 2018, was waived in by Dallas in 2019 and claimed on waivers by the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2019 – where he later became an NBA champion with the Lakers in 2020.

Antetokounmpo played one collegiate season at Dayton (2017-18), seeing action in 29 games (6 starts) as a freshman and averaged of 5.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and shot 57.4% from the field. Antetokounmpo.&nbsp;

Bulls Sign Kostas Antetokounmpo to Two-Way Contract

The Chicago Bulls announced today the remaining substitute TV play-by-play schedule through the end of the 2019-20 regular season. Adam Amin, Jason Benetti, Lisa Byington and J.B. Long will round out the final slate of road games alongside Bulls TV analyst Stacey King.

Amin is a play-by-play commentator for ESPN working on multiple sports for the network, including the NBA and men’s and women’s college basketball. A Chicago native, Amin has called a total of 14 Bulls games over the last two seasons.

Benetti, who will have subbed for a total of 10 games, is set to begin his fifth season as TV play-by-play announcer for the White Sox. He has also been a play-by-play announcer for ESPN since 2011. He was born in Chicago and grew up in Homewood, Ill.

Filling in for six games over two seasons, Byington has held play-by-play duties primarily at the collegiate level, where she has called college football, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, volleyball and softball for Fox and the Big Ten Network. At the pro level, she has announced games for MLS, WNBA, and the NWSL. Byington has also worked sideline for the NFL, college football and basketball, and most recently working the NCAA Tournament for CBS and Turner Sports the last two years.

Long, who also serves as the radio play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Rams, has been with the Pac-12 Network for the past eight years, and has called games for MLB Network, ESPN, and the Big Ten Network. Long will have a called a total of 10 games for Chicago over the past two seasons.

Neil Funk will officially retire his headset as Chicago’s longtime TV Play-by-Play announcer when the team travels to the Boston Celtics for its final game of the season on Wednesday, April 15. Plans for celebrating Funk’s retirement at a future home game will be announced at a later date.

The Chicago Bulls announced today a schedule for the team's substitute TV
  play-by-play announcers through NBA All-Star Weekend. Adam Amin, Jason Benetti and J.B. Long are slotted to fill in
  alongside Bulls TV analyst Stacey King.

  Bulls games over the last two seasons, including two games earlier this season.

Benetti, who subbed for two games last season and three earlier this season, is

  announcer for ESPN since 2011. He was born in Chicago and grew up in Homewood, Ill.

The Chicago Bulls have signed guard Brandon Sampson to a Two-Way contract. In accordance with team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. In a preceding move, the Bulls waived Two-Way player Tyler Ulis.

Sampson (6-5, 184) went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft after playing three seasons at Louisiana State University. He has played in 18 games (18 starts) this season for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA G League, averaging 17.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 35.1 minutes per game. At LSU, Sampson played in 85 games (40 starts) from 2015-18. Over his career with the Tigers, he averaged 7.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists, scoring a career-high 24 points twice in the 2016-17 season.

The Baton Rouge, La., native was named Mr. Basketball for the state of Louisiana in 2015.

Per NBA rules, teams are permitted to have two Two-Way players on their roster at any given time in addition to their 15-man regular season roster. A Two-Way player for the Bulls will provide services to the team’s G League affiliate – the Windy City Bulls – but can spend up to 45 days over a full season with Chicago, not including any time prior to the start of Windy City’s training camp and after the conclusion of their season.

Bulls Sign Brandon Sampson to two-way Contract

Chicago Bulls General Manager Gar Forman announced today that Tom Thibodeau will not be retained as the team’s head coach.

Chicago Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said, “The Chicago Bulls have a history of achieving great success on and off the court. These accomplishments have been possible because of an organizational culture where input from all parts of the organization has been welcomed and valued, there has been a willingness to participate in a free flow of information, and there have been clear and consistent goals. While the head of each department of the organization must be free to make final decisions regarding his department, there must be free and open interdepartmental discussion and consideration of everyone's ideas and opinions. These internal discussions must not be considered an invasion of turf, and must remain private. Teams that consistently perform at the highest levels are able to come together and be unified across the organization-staff, players, coaches, management and ownership. When everyone is on the same page, trust develops and teams can grow and succeed together. Unfortunately, there has been a departure from this culture.  To ensure that the Chicago Bulls can continue to grow and succeed, we have decided that a change in the head coaching position is required. Days like today are difficult, but necessary for us to achieve our goals and fulfill our commitments to our fans. I appreciate the contributions that Tom Thibodeau made to the Bulls organization. I have always respected his love of the game and wish him well in the future.”

Following 21 years in the NBA as an assistant coach (he was an advance scout in 1991-92), Chicago named Thibodeau the team’s head coach on June 23, 2010.  During his five seasons at the helm of the Bulls, Thibodeau’s teams compiled an overall record of 255-139 (.647).  The Bulls advanced to the playoffs five times during Thibodeau’s tenure, where he posted a postseason record of 23-28 (.451).

"When Tom was hired in 2010, he was right for our team and system at that time, and over the last five years we have had some success with Tom as our head coach,” said Chicago Bulls General Manager Gar Forman.  “But as we looked ahead and evaluated how we as a team and an organization could continue to grow and improve, we believed a change in approach was needed."
