WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Wizards will celebrate and show their appreciation to their loyal and dedicated fanbase on Fan Appreciation Night presented by Michelob ULTRA on Friday, April 12, at 7:00 p.m. when the Chicago Bulls come to Capital One Arena.&nbsp;   &nbsp;

All fans in attendance will take home a Wizards Boundary Stones City Edition t-shirt. Prior to the start of the game, forward Kyle Kuzma will address the crowd. In addition, the team will present the 2023-24 Dr. E.B. Henderson Award in a pregame ceremony. The team award, introduced during the 2021-22 season, recognizes a Wizards player for their work in the community.  

Throughout the game, fans will have the chance to take home a variety of prizes and giveaways and those in attendance will be entertained with a halftime performance that includes the Wizards Dancers, Wizdom, Wiz Kids, and 202 Crew Dunkers.&nbsp;

To continue their appreciation to fans, the team will offer a variety of specials and discounts. Fans can enjoy a $3 gameday special on select food items at concession stands. Items include hot dogs, a small popcorn, pretzels, and a 16-ounce soda (concession offer is valid where items are sold; one item per person, per transaction, while supplies last). In addition, all regularly priced Wizards merchandise items will be 40% off for that night (offer valid at The Team Store and other Capital One Arena retail locations only). &nbsp;

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Grammy Award-winning artist 2 Chainz will close out the Washington Wizards’ 2023-24 Friday Night Concert Series presented by Sprite on Friday, April 5, following the Wizards vs. Portland Trail Blazers game.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The hip-hop artist and rapper will entertain the crowd with his hits “No Lie,” “I’m Different,” “Stop Me Now,” and “Feds Watching.”&nbsp;

All-female local Go-Go band Be’la Dona, known for their unique sound and ‘Sensual Crank’ style, will also perform.

In addition, the team will also celebrate Sneaker Night presented by Hennessy. Prior to the Wizards vs. Trail Blazers game, fans can attend the Sneaker Night Block Party at District E powered by Ticketmaster. 2024 HBCU Battle of the DJs winner DJ Dream Marie of Howard University will perform while Audacy radio will also be on site with free giveaways.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Those in attendance can have their photo taken in the Hennessy 360-degree photobooth and see custom-designed Hennessy-branded Air Forces as well as the Wizards Boundary Stones City Edition-inspired New Balance B 550 sneakers by designer Sierato. Fans aged 21and over can also enjoy the official cocktail of Sneaker Night, “The Henny-Rita,” as well as Hennessy drink samples and complementary appetizers.&nbsp;&nbsp;

On the concourse, fans can visit section 115 to get their sneakers cleaned at the Crep Protect sneaker cleaning station. Throughout the game, fans can show off their sneakers on the ‘kicks cam’ and a video of Wizards’ players discussing their top-three favorite sneakers will be played. G-Wiz will also unveil a new pair of sneakers.

Washington, D.C. – The Washington Wizards announced today that they have converted the two-way contract of forward Eugene Omoruyi to a standard NBA contract.

In 27 games with Washington this season, Omoruyi is averaging 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 7.6 minutes while shooting a career-best .490 from the field. The 6-7 forward has also appeared in 12 games (all starts) for the Capital City Go-Go, the Wizards’ NBA G League affiliate, averaging 20.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.4 steals while shooting .508 from the field.

On Feb. 4 vs. Phoenix, he totaled a season-high 16 points, three assists, and three steals while grabbing a career-best 10 rebounds off the bench for the Wizards.

Omoruyi holds career averages of 5.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 71 games (six starts) over three seasons with Dallas, Oklahoma City, Detroit, and Washington.

The Oregon product originally signed a two-way contract with Washington on July 12, 2023.

Wizards Convert Eugene Omoruyi To Standard NBA Contract

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole and local artist/designer Chris Pyrate have teamed up to create a limited-edition work jacket.

When designing the jacket, Poole’s inspiration stemmed from his comfy and chill off-court style. The collaboration merges the lines between fashion, art, and sport featuring Pyrate’s iconic flower pattern subtly printed monochromatically over the cotton twill navy jacket.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Poole also integrated Wizards elements throughout the jacket to recognize the franchise. Pyrate’s signature Wizard character is embroidered on the back near the collar area of the jacket and the word “district,” written in a red cursive writing, is included in the nametag patch on the front left of the jacket to recognize the team’s fans. The unique piece also includes a zippered pocket on the front right of the jacket and a distressed hem on the sleeves.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Limited quantities of this one-of-a-kind jacket are available for purchase exclusively at the Team Store at Capital One Arena for $149.99. The Team Store is open Tuesday-Saturday 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and 2 hours before events on Sundays and Mondays.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Wizards will host International Women’s Night presented by GDIT in celebration of International Women’s Day on Friday, March 8, at 7:00 p.m. when the Charlotte Hornets come to Capital One Arena.  

In celebration of the night, the first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a Wizards-branded belt bag (photo attached). The team will also collect and donate any gently-used professional women’s spring clothing to Suited for Change. Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation (MSEF) is donating $10,000 to Calvary Women’s Services, a nonprofit dedicated to serving women experiencing homelessness in Washington, D.C. In addition, Monumental Sports & Entertainment Founder and CEO Ted Leonsis will match MSEF’s $10,000 donation, and a $20,000 check presentation will take place during the third quarter of the game. This past January, Calvary’s main housing program suffered water and smoke damages following a gas explosion next door. Washington, D.C. – The Washington Wizards announced today that they have partnered with non-profit organization Learn Fresh to launch “Wizards Math Hoops” presented by KPMG LLP. This engaging educational program aims to help students across the District excel in mathematics.&nbsp; Wizards Math Hoops is free of charge to educators for the 2023-24 school year.

Washington Wizards Partner With Learn Fresh To Bring NBA Math Hoops To Washington, D.C. Students

Washington, D.C. – The Washington Wizards will recognize and honor former St. John’s High School basketball coach Pat Behan with a special “Behan Strong” shooting shirt on January 20 when the San Antonio Spurs come to Capital One Arena. The Wizards will also celebrate their second annual Basketball Day in the DMV that night.

The team will wear the custom “Behan Strong” shooting shirt (attached) to continue to raise awareness on Behan’s courageous fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Behan was diagnosed with ALS in May 2022.

The shooting shirts worn by players will be auctioned off to raise money in Behan’s name, with all proceeds benefitting I AM ALS.

Behan has dedicated his life’s work to coaching high school boys’ basketball in the DMV area.&nbsp; In his six seasons as St. John’s High School men’s basketball head coach, he compiled a 127-51 record, sent 26 players to college programs, and won a Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) tournament championship last winter.

Washington, D.C. –&nbsp;The Wizards are encouraging all students, teachers, and administrators who wish to work in professional sports to attend their annual Sports Career Day&nbsp;on Friday, February 24.&nbsp;

As part of the&nbsp;team’s Black History Month celebrations presented by Stackwell Capital, the digital investment platform created to eliminate the racial wealth gap, the Wizards will honor and celebrate the achievements, influence and talents of individuals and organizations from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area throughout the month of February as part of the “Our Community, Our History” campaign.

Middle school and high school students, teachers, administrators and chaperones with an interest in learning more about working in professional sports will get to learn from members of the Wizards management&nbsp;team. The annual event will include a sports business breakout panel session from 1:15-2:30 p.m. with Wizards Sr. Director, Marketing&nbsp;Cathy Jerome; VP of Sales and Service,&nbsp;Kameron Florence; Sr. Director of Suite Sales and Development,&nbsp;Greg Turner; Director of Suite Services,&nbsp;Rachel Northridge; Sr. Manager of Global Partnership Marketing,&nbsp;Allie Smith;&nbsp;and, Sr. Director of Ticket Sales,&nbsp;Carly Salerno. Those in attendance will also have the option of attending a college fair. Following the day’s activities, students will get to watch the Wizards in action when the New York Knicks come to Capital One Arena.

As part of the Sports Career panel, from 2:30-2:50 p.m., those in attendance will hear from&nbsp;Edwin Henderson,&nbsp;the grandson&nbsp;of&nbsp;Dr. Edwin Bancroft (E.B)&nbsp;Henderson, who is considered the ‘Grandfather of Black Basketball’ in Washington, D.C, on the history of Black basketball. Attendees will learn about the impact his grandfather, E.B. Henderson, had on the sport of basketball as well as Howard University’s basketball program.&nbsp;&nbsp;
