Following their 91-84 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas, the Summer 76ers regroup to take on the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

Cassius Winston (16 points) and Charlie Brown Jr. (14 points) combined for 30 Sixers points in Sunday’s defeat, while Brooklyn’s Cam Thomas dropped 26 points (5-17 fg, 1-3 3fg, 15-15 ft) to lead all scorers.

On Sunday evening, the Sixers signed Michael Foster Jr., who appeared in each of the team’s games in Salt Lake City and is currently participating in Las Vegas.

Sunday’s Key Contributors

Cassius Winston

  • In 31 minutes as a starter, Winston tallied a team-high 16 points (7-11 fg, 2-4 3fg), plus five rebounds, a game-high-tying seven assists, and two steals.

Charlie Brown Jr.

  • Brown Jr. played 23 minutes and shot 4-for-8 from the field, 2-for-3 from 3-point range, and 4-for-4 from the foul line in his 14-point outing off the bench.
  • Bassey was one rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points (5-10 fg, 1-1 3fg) and a team-leading nine boards in 24 minutes of action. He connected on his lone 3-point attempt.

Opponent Outlook:

The Heat defeated Boston, 88-77, in their opening game on Saturday. Mychal Mulder led all scorers with 23 points in 27 minutes off the Heat bench. Former 76er and Blue Coat Haywood Highsmith added 14 points.

The Summer League Head Coach of the Heat is South Jersey and Villanova product, Malik Allen.

Prior to meeting the Sixers, Miami will play Atlanta on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
