Ever since Jordan Clarkson arrived in Salt Lake City via a trade with Cleveland in Dec. 2019, Jazz Nation has welcomed the sharpshooting guard with open arms.

He’s rewarded that loyalty by not just being a star on the court, but embracing Salt Lake City and the state of Utah as a whole. He’s taken to heart the role of being an ambassador for the state and its people.

But one aspect of Clarkson that everyone in Jazz Nation — and the NBA world as a whole — has always wondered about has been his tattoos. Throughout his career, Clarkson has rarely talked about his tattoos, often bypassing the subject when asked about the meanings of them and why he got them.

Now the mystery is gone.

In a video published by GQ Sports, Clarkson broke down his journey from entering the NBA with no tattoos to know being universally known for the spectacular artwork covering his body.

“I had zero tattoos in the beginning, but then I got a small one of my initials,” he said in the video. “Over the next two or three month period, me and Steve (Wiebe) was literally tattooing every day. The two or three months, the whole sleeve happened. When I came back that summer, everybody was like, ‘Oh my God, what happened?’”
