Miami HEAT Assistant Coach Ron Rothstein was recently honored by the University of Rhode Island on June 21, receiving the 2010 Ram Legend award. Rothstein was a three-year starter on the University of Rhode Island basketball team and captain of the 1963-64 squad that finished 19-7 and tied Connecticut for the Yankee conference championship. He was inducted into the University of Rhode Island Athletic Hall of Fame in 1989. In it's 13th year, the Ram Legend award is presented annually in conjunction with the Fast Break Club Rams Legends Golf Tournament. Past Ram Legend honorees have included former head coach Jack Kraft, former NBA player Steve Chubin and former player Dennis McGovern.
