HEAT Dancers Named The Most Popular Dance Team in the NBA

MIAMI, April 4th – The Miami HEAT Dancers are officially the hottest dance team in the NBA. The HEAT Dancers earned the title “The Most Popular Dance Team in the NBA” after defeating the Western Conference champion, (Sacramento) Kings Dance Team, garnering 77 percent of fans votes, to win the first ever NBA Dance Team Bracket competition.

The HEAT would like to extend its thanks to all fans who voted for the HEAT Dancers, who won each of their individual match ups by an average 42.8 percent margin. The HEAT Dancers got through the first and second round match ups over Southeast division rivals Charlotte Bobcats Dance Team, receiving 91 percent of the votes, and the Toronto Raptors Dance Pak, earning 62 percent of fan votes, respectively. They then defeated “Automotion”, the Detroit Pistons Dance Team, 58 percent to 42 percent, in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, their closest margin of victory of the competition. The HEAT Dancers then advanced to the championship round after defeating the (New York) Knicks City Dancers, earning 69 percent of votes.

The HEAT Dancers joined 28 other NBA dance teams to compete in a single elimination online tournament. Fans logged onto HEAT.com or NBA.com to access the NBA Dance Team Bracket. Once at the Dance Team Bracket, fans clicked on the HEAT logo to view special HEAT Dancer video features and photogalleries prior to casting their votes.
