Sports Media Relations/Basketball Operations Assistant

Maddox Burnett begins his ninth season with the HEAT and seventh as Sports Media Relations/Basketball Operations Assistant. His responsibilities include the compiling of daily team-centric clippings, archiving team, opponent and league statistics, organizing game-day operations, assisting with interview requests and credentialing local, visiting and national media. He also serves as an assistant editor to numerous team publications, including the pre- and postseason media guides and assists with game notes.

Burnett first joined the HEAT during the 2015-16 season as an intern in the Sports Media Relations department, a role he served for two seasons before being promoted to his current position. Prior to his tenure with the club, he spent nearly two years as the Assistant Sports Information Director at St. Thomas University.

Burnett graduated from the University of Miami in 2014 with a Bachelors in Communications and Sport Administration.  He earned his Master of Business Administration in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in 2015. Born in Miami, he currently resides in Miramar.
