CCI STAT OF THE GAME: Coby White has made his 500th career 3-pointer tonight vs. LAC, becoming the fastest player in Bulls history to reach 500 career 3FGM (237 games).
CCI RECAP: In the NBA no lead is safe and the Bulls found out the hard way as they squandered a 19 point first half lead and lost to the Clippers in the first of four straight home games.
The Clippers intensified their defensive pressure in the second quarter to get back in the game with a series of deflections and steals as the Bulls turned it over 20 times leading to 24 Clippers points. The Clippers received 33 points from Kawhi Leonard. Paul George nearly had a triple-double of 16-10-7. Norman Powell was the "X" factor as he poured in 27 points in 33 minutes off the bench including 10-10 from the line. His two free throws with 10 seconds left provided just enough for LAC to hang on.
Zach LaVine nearly recorded his first ever triple-double with 18-14-8. LaVine and DeMar DeRozanhowever combined for 14 of the Bulls 20 turnovers. DeRozan finished with 20 points. Nikola Vucevic picked up his 29th double-double with an impressive 23-14-4 game.
