Bucks Announce 2015 Training Camp Roster

The Milwaukee Bucks announced their 2015 training camp roster today with the additions of Jon Horford, Josh Powell and Charlie Westbrook. Training camp opens on Tuesday, Sept. 29, in Madison, Wis., following the team’s annual Media Day on Monday, Sept. 28, from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin Training Center in St. Francis (3501 S. Lake Drive).

Horford was undrafted out of Florida, where he played for one season in 2014-15 as a redshirt senior after spending four years at Michigan from 2010-11 to 2013-14. Horford injured his right foot nine games into his sophomore season and received a medical redshirt, allowing him to extend his college career. While with the Gators, he averaged a career-high 6.5 points and 4.8 rebounds over 31 games (28 starts). In 2013 with Michigan, Horford helped the Wolverines reach the Final Four and then National Championship game. He is the son of Tito Horford, who played for the Bucks from 1989-90, and brother of Al, who is currently a member of the Atlanta Hawks.

Powell joins the Bucks after spending 2015-16 on the Houston Rockets’ bench as a player development coach. As a player, the seven-year NBA veteran has seen time with the Mavericks, Pacers, Warriors, Clippers, Lakers, Hawks and Rockets with career averages of 3.9 points and 2.9 rebounds over 316 games (28 starts). He has been to the playoffs five times, appearing in 46 games, and was a part of two NBA Championship squads with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010. Powell was undrafted out of North Carolina State University in 2005.

Milwaukee- native Westbrook played college basketball for Iowa Western Community College before transferring to the University of South Dakota, where he averaged 17.5 points over the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. Undrafted in 2012, he played on Orlando’s Summer League team before joining Tezenis Verona of the Italian Legadue Basket for 2012-13. Westbrook was on Miami’s 2013 training camp roster and then split time in the 2013-14 season between the Austin Toros and Springfield Armor of the NBA D-League, where he averaged 9.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. He spent last season with Hyères-Toulon of France.
