For the fourth consecutive season, the Milwaukee Bucks teamed up with BMO for the BMO Bucks Custom Cap Series. This season’s collection was created by former Bucks All-Star and current assistant coach Vin Baker, Bucks guard Jrue Holiday and Bucks center Brook Lopez and will be given away at three home games during the remainder of the 2022-23 season. The 2022-23 BMO Bucks Custom Cap Series takes inspiration from the Bucks’ Classic and City Edition uniforms and will be given away to the first 14,000 fans at each designated home game.
Baker’s hat will be distributed on Friday, Jan. 6 when the Bucks host the Charlotte Hornets. Baker leveraged the color palette and stylized look of the Bucks’ 2022-23 Classic Edition uniform, which pays tribute to the iconic purple uniforms worn between 1994 and 2006. Baker, himself, wore the Bucks’ purple uniform during his Bucks career. The gold whistle featured on the side of the cap celebrates the team’s 2021 NBA Championship.
The second giveaway will be Holiday’s custom hat on Saturday, Feb. 4 vs. the Miami Heat, in conjunction with the team’s Black History Month game. Holiday drew inspiration from the Bucks’ 2022-23 City Edition uniform, which celebrates the Patchwork Mural in Milwaukee’s Bronzeville community. The rings on the side of the hat are a nod to the three combined Olympic gold medals won by Holiday and his wife, Lauren. The Bucks guard also paid tribute to a number of Milwaukee-based, Black-owned businesses under the brim.
The final hat, designed by Lopez, will be distributed on Wednesday, March 22 when the Bucks host the San Antonio Spurs. True to his Splash Mountain moniker, Lopez was drawn to the Great Lakes Blue featured in the team’s 2022-23 City jersey. The Bucks center even created his own logo, a retro Bango in a log flume, for the front of the cap.
