Warriors Score Season-High 72 Paint Points in Win Over Nets

Warriors Out-Score Nets by 34 Points in Restricted Area

The Warriors set a season-high with 72 points in the paint in their 109-98 victory over the Nets in Brooklyn on Monday. Stephen Curry led all scorers with 29 points and made all four of the Warriors' 3-pointers as the rest of the team combined to shoot 0-18 from deep, but they made up for their perimeter struggles by shooting 59.0 percent (36-61) in the restricted area. The Dubs outscored the Nets by 34 points in the paint.

The Warriors out-rebounded Brooklyn by 22 (60-38) and limited them to just 38.2 percent shooting. They held three starters —Mikal Bridges (5-15, 33.3 FG%), Cam Thomas (4-21, 19.0 FG%) and Spencer Dinwiddie (3-12, 25.0 FG%) — under 35 percent from the field and held the Nets under 30 points in each quarter.

KUMINGA REACHES 2,000 CAREER POINTS
With a mid-range jumper in the first quarter, Jonathan Kuminga (age 21) became the second youngest Warrior to reach 2,000 career points. Kuminga is slightly older than Gilbert Arenas was when he reached the 2,000-point milestone in his second season with the Dubs.

Kuminga finished with 28 points — his 27th straight game in double figures and ninth game in the last 10 with 20-plus points. He also grabbed 10 rebounds and recorded two blocks.

CURRY BREAKS SPLASH SEAL
After the Warriors missed their first nine 3-point attempts, Stephen Curry finally broke the splash seal with 4:29 left in the first half, sinking the 3,600th 3-pointer of his career. Fresh off a season-high 60 points and 10 made threes, Curry hit all four of the Warriors' 3-pointers, finishing with a game-high 29 points.

EFFICIENT IN THIRD QUARTER RUN
The Warriors shot 8-for-10 from the field to begin the third quarter to take their first lead (62-61) since the first quarter (10-9). Jonathan Kuminga led the way with eight points during that stretch, including the Warriors' first six points in the quarter. Kuminga set the tone on the Warriors' first possession to begin the second half, throwing down an explosive dunk over Nic Claxton. The Dubs also didn't commit a turnover in their run and outscored the Nets by 11 in the quarter (32-21).
