Warriors Seek Second Road Win in Houston

WARRIORS VISIT HOUSTON TO BEGIN FIRST ROAD BACK-TO-BACK
The Warriors will play their second road game of the season against the Houston Rockets on Sunday (4 p.m., NBCSBA). They won their first road game of the season in their first attempt against the Sacramento Kings on Friday. It took the Dubs eight games before they won their first road game last season — against the Rockets on Nov. 20. They swept their regular season series against the Rockets in 2022-23 (4-0).

LAST TIME OUT
Stephen Curry scored a game-high 41 points on an ultra-efficient 14-for-19 from the field and 7-for-10 from three in a 122-114 victory over the Kings in Sacramento on Friday. De'Aaron Fox went toe-to-toe with Curry with 39 points, including 22 in the fourth quarter, but a Curry dagger 3-pointer in the final minute, sealed with his signature 'night night' celebration, put the game out of reach. Klay Thompson chipped in 18 points and Chris Paul again paced the Dubs in assists with 12. » Full Game Recap

HOUSTON ROCKETS SCOUTING REPORT
After eight consecutive playoff appearances — coinciding with the years James Harden was on the team — the Rockets have missed the playoffs in each of the past three seasons. Houston made some significant moves this offseason, bringing in Head Coach Ime Udoka and signing veterans Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks. VanVleet, a one-time champion for the Toronto Raptors, averaged 19.3 points per game and 7.2 assists per game in 2022-23, while Brooks has gained a reputation as a gritty defender and volume shooter. With the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, the Rockets drafted guard Amen Thompson from Overtime Elite.

These new additions join a core highlighted by guard Jalen Green and center Alperen Sengun. Green was the top scorer in 2022-23 among players currently age 21 or younger (22.1 PPG). Sengun was one of 10 players to average at least 14 points per game and nine rebounds per game last season.
