In-Depth Breakdown of New Look Dubs

The Warriors have filled 13 of their 15 available roster spots ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season. Eight players are returning, including Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green — the league's longest-tenured trio. The five newcomers include 12-time All-Star guard Chris Paul, stretch big man Dario Šarić, one-time champion guard Cory Joseph, and the two rookies – guard Brandin Podziemski (19th overall pick) and Trayce Jackson-Davis (57th overall pick). All three of the Warriors' available two-way contract slots have been filled with two Santa Cruz Warriors' — Lester Quinones and Jerome Robinson — joining newly acquired center Usman Garuba.

Brandin Podziemski (draft)
Trayce Jackson-Davis (draft trade, Wizards)
Cory Joseph (free agent)

Via the trade market, the Warriors added a member of the NBA's 75th-anniversary team, Chris Paul, who they acquired via the Washington Wizards in a trade package centered around guard Jordan Poole, their leader in total points scored last season. In free agency, they added veteran guard, Cory Joseph, who won an NBA Championship with the Spurs in 2014, and Dario Šarić, who at 6-foot-10 is the team’s tallest player.  In the 2023 NBA Draft, the Dubs drafted perimeter offensive weapon Brandin Podziemski and two-way big man Trayce Jackson-Davis.

Despite their defensive slippage last season, the Warriors were without Andrew Wiggins (37 regular season games played) and Gary Payton II (seven regular season games played with Warriors) for most of the season, both of which have been impactful defenders.
