Curry Sharpshooting in Sacramento Continues in Win Over Kings

Curry Scores 41 Points, Hits 'Night Night' Signature in Victory

Stephen Curry's prolific shooting against the Sacramento Kings continued on Friday in the Warriors' 122-114 victory in Sacramento.

Curry scored 41 points on 14-for-19 shooting and 7-for-10 from behind the arc. That gives him a combined 91 points in his last two meaningful games in Sacramento, including his 50-point Game 7 in the first round of the 2023 NBA playoffs.

The Kings gave the Warriors a late scare thanks to 22 fourth-quarter points from De'Aaron Fox, but the Dubs held on thanks to a Curry dagger three and his signature 'night night' celebration.

DROPPING DIMES
The Warriors assisted on each of their first nine made field goals on Friday. On the game's opening possession, Chris Paul threw a bullet pass to Andrew Wiggins, who sealed his defender in the paint and finished with a post move. A couple of minutes later, he again connected with Wiggins, slipping to the rim for a dunk.

The Dubs, who led the league in assists per game in the 2022-23 season, had 32 assists on 48 made field goals.

For the second consecutive game, Paul led the Warriors in assists (12) and now has 21 assists and only four turnovers over his first two games. He also recorded his first Dubs double-double (10 points, 12 assists).

CURRY TURNS THE TIDE
Stephen Curry subbed out with 4:05 left in the opening quarter in a tie game (17-17). When he returned in the second quarter, the Warriors were down by double-digits (39-28). Curry played the remainder of the second quarter and completely changed the game's trend. He scored 11 points in the quarter — hitting three of his four shot attempts — including two 3-pointers. After being outscored 22-11 in the non-Curry minutes, the Warriors outscored the Kings 30-18 with Curry in the second quarter, capped by a Jonathan Kuminga splash at the end of the half that gave the Dubs a three-point lead.

In the third quarter, Curry's hot shooting continued as he scored 16 in the frame on 6-for-7 shooting and a perfect 3-for-3 from 3-point range.

FOX JOINS CURRY BRAND
On Wednesday, Kings guard De'Aaron Fox became the first NBA player to sign with Stephen Curry's signature line at Under Armour. Fox had a career year in 2022-23, winning the NBA's inaugural Clutch Player of the Year award and making the All-NBA third team.

"This is definitely a special occasion to partner with someone like Fox while we're still competing," Curry said.

After Fox helped the Kings snap a 16-year playoff drought, the two All-NBA guards went head-to-head in the first round of the 2023 playoffs, with Curry's Warriors winning in seven games.

In Friday's game, Stephen Curry (41 points) and De'Aaron Fox (38 points) combined for 79 points, leading their respective teams.

STARTING OFF STRONG ON THE ROAD
Last season, the Warriors lost their first eight road games before finally securing their first road win on Nov. 20. This season, they begin 1-0 away from home after Friday's victory against the Kings.

"Last year is last year," Head Coach Steve Kerr said postgame. "I think we'll have plenty of road wins this year."

The Warriors will have plenty of immediate opportunities, with five of their next six games away from Chase Center.
