Justin Edwards originally joined the Philadelphia 76ers in July 2024 on a two-way contract, after going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft. Edwards later signed a standard NBA contract in February 2025, and re-signed in July 2025.
During his 2024-25 rookie campaign, Edwards averaged 10.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in 44 games played (26 starts). He recorded a career-high 25 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Jan. 14, 2025. Weeks later, he again put up 25 points, this time against the Spurs on March 21.
Prior to the NBA, Edwards spent one season at the University of Kentucky where he appeared in 32 games (30 starts), while averaging 8.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest. His 28 steals ranked third on the team and his 31 makes from beyond the arc were fourth. For the season, he shot nearly 49.0% from the field and just under 37.0% from three-point range.
Edwards, a Philadelphia native, led Imhotep Charter High School to consecutive Pennsylvania State titles in his junior and senior seasons. His high school success led to accolades including being named 2023 Mr. Pennsylvania Basketball and a 2023 McDonald’s All-American.
Edwards was a member of the 2023 USA Men’s Junior National Select Team and the 2023 USA Men’s Nike Hoop Summit roster. He joined the 76ers at the NBA 2K25 Summer League 2024 in Las Vegas.
