Utah Jazz Sign Jason Preston to Two-Way Contract

The Utah Jazz have signed guard Jason Preston to two-way contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Preston (6-3, 181, Ohio) has played in 17 games (16 starts) for the NBA G League’s Memphis Hustle (Memphis Grizzlies affiliate) this season, averaging 12.4 points on 48.1 percent shooting, 8.6 assists, and 7.9 rebounds  in 31.0 minutes of action and also has NBA experience, having appeared in 14 career games for the Los Angeles Clippers during the 2022-23 season, owning averages of 2.9 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.6 rebounds in 8.9 minutes per contest. 

Drafted in the second round (no. 33 overall) of the 2021 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic before being traded to the Clippers, the 24-year old guard has additional experience in the NBA G League with the Ontario Clippers (2022-23), where he was assigned for 21 games, averaging 16.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. 

The Coral Springs, Fla., native played three collegiate seasons at Ohio (2018-21), where he earned First Team All-MAC honors after the 2020-21 season, owning career averages of 12.6 points, 5.5 boards, and 5.9 assists in 34.1 minutes. Preston was named Most Valuable Player of the MAC tournament after leading the Bobcats to the conference title in 2021.
