Trailing 2-1 in the series against the #6-seed Kings, the #3-seed Jazz were facing elimination in game four. In front of a wild Sacramento crowd the game went back and forth with each team making clutch plays until the end. Karl Malone had 23 points and 16 rebounds and John Stockton finished the game with 12 points and eight assists. Stockton made the second biggest shot of his career when he nailed a 23-footer with less than one second to play. The Jazz won the game 90-89 and went on to win the series in five games. The Jazz eventually lost in the conference semifinals to Portland in six games.
