HEAT Signs Davon Reed

MIAMI, September 04 – The Miami HEAT announced today that they have signed guard Davon Reed. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Reed, who was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the second round (32nd overall) in the 2017 NBA Draft, split last season between the Indiana Pacers and the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA G League. He appeared in 34 games (all starts) with the Mad Ants last season and averaged 13.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.35 steals and 34.5 minutes while also appearing in 10 games with the Pacers totaling 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal in 47 minutes of action, shooting 41.7 percent (5-of-12) from the field and 50 percent (2-of-4) from three-point range. Reed split the 2017-18 season between the Phoenix Suns and the Northern Arizona Suns of the NBA G League, appearing in 12 games (eight starts) with Northern Arizona averaging 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 25.3 minutes while also appearing in 21 games (one start) with Phoenix averaging 3.0 points and 1.9 rebounds in 11.5 minutes of action.

Reed played four collegiate seasons at the University of Miami, appearing in 131 career games (99 starts). Among the school’s all-time lists, he finished fourth in games played, fourth in consecutive games started (84), fifth in minutes (3,679), fifth in three-point field goal percentage (.395), fifth in consecutive games with a made three-point field goal (27), seventh in three-point field goals made (202), eighth in games started and 16th in points (1,343).
