JAY SABOL

Vice President, Sport Performance

Jay Sabol begins his 34th season with the HEAT and third as Vice President, Sport Performance. Sabol works closely with the NBA to ensure the HEAT are implementing and following all the league’s health and safety protocols. Previously, Sabol spent 14 seasons (2008-22) as the HEAT’s Head Athletic Trainer, 13 seasons (1995-08) as the team's Assistant Athletic Trainer/Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach/Equipment Manager, and served as a team attendant for his first five years with the organization.

Sabol was born and raised in Miami and graduated from Florida International University in 1992 with a master’s degree in exercise physiology. As Assistant Athletic Trainer from 1992-95, Sabol covered basketball and soccer for FIU before joining the HEAT full-time in 1995. He is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association, National Strength and Conditioning Association, National Academy of Sports Medicine and licensed by the State of Florida Department of Health.
