A seasoned professional in the retail industry, Andy Montero enters his 23rd year with The HEAT Group, and 8th as Vice President of Retail Business and Development. Montero oversees all the Miami HEAT Retail Business at the Kaseya Center, Dolphin Mall, Pembroke Lakes Mall, the Miami International Airport, and the MiamiHEATStore.com.

Montero originally joined the HEAT as Manager of Retail Operation in 1998. He was quickly promoted to Director of the Department back in 1999 where his responsibilities expanded to lead the entire retail division including the first Flagship Store at Bayside Market Place in Downtown Miami. A year later he got promoted to Sr. Director of Retail Operations and Merchandising. In 2012, he was promoted once again to Vice President of Retail Business & Development for the Miami HEAT & Kaseya Center where he now oversees the entire consumer business. Under Montero’s leadership, the Miami HEAT has won (7) NBA “Team of the Year” awards, (5) “Top Customer Service” awards as well as earning the League’s Top “Per-Cap” awards (7) times which are all Most in NBA History. In 2018, the Miami HEAT was the first team to be inducted into the NBA Retail Hall of Fame. This same year they received the “Game Changer” award, then following “The Full Nelson” award. Montero regularly lectures other Professional Sports teams in the country on Retail Business Best Practices.

Prior to joining the HEAT Group back in 1998, Montero served 14 years at Champs Sports (a Division of Woolworth Corp.) in the capacity of General Store Manager, Manager Trainer, and District Market Leader. Montero oversaw all aspects of some of the company’s top stores and received multiple accolades during his tenure at the organization including “Manager of the Year” on (2) different occasions.

Andy, and his wife Karla, live in Doral Florida, along with their two daughters, Emily (19) and Jacqueline (16).
