Clippers return to Hawai‘i for Training Camp in partnership with The Hawaiian Islands

LOS ANGELES – The LA Clippers have announced that the team will return to Hawai‘i to tip off the 2023-24 season, in partnership with The Hawaiian Islands. Following Media Day on Mon., Oct. 2 in Los Angeles, the Clippers will travel to Hawai‘i for training camp, which will be held from Tues., Oct. 3 through Mon., Oct. 9 at the Stan Sheriff Center on the campus of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. In addition, the Clippers will host a preseason game against the Utah Jazz on Sun., Oct. 8 at 3 p.m. HT at SimpliFi Arena.&nbsp;The Clippers and Jazz will donate all proceeds from the game to the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation’s&nbsp;Maui Strong Fund&nbsp;to benefit wildfire relief in Lahaina, Maui.

This marks the Clippers’ fourth training camp in the islands since 2017. During this preseason trip, the LA Clippers Foundation and the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority (HTA) will assist with wildfire recovery efforts and renovate facilities at a local school.

LOS ANGELES – The LA Clippers have unveiled their schedule for the 2023-24 regular season. The team will tip off on Wednesday, October 25, against the Portland Trail Blazers at home.&nbsp;Individual game tickets go on sale today at 2:30 p.m. at&nbsp;www.clippers.com/singlegametickets, and Clippers season ticket members will have access to an exclusive early presale. The Clippers unveiled the 2023-24 schedule with a video (LINK) following a basketball stamped with an oversized handprint on its journey to the start of the season. The basketball rolls across Los Angeles, starting at a scale sandcastle model of the Clippers’ new home opening in the fall of 2024, Intuit Dome, and making several stops along the way before joining new Clipper Kenyon Martin Jr. on his drive to the Honey Training Center to prepare for the season.Marquee home matchups for the Clippers this season include facing the Lakers on January 23 and February 28, the Golden State Warriors on December 2 and 14, and the Denver Nuggets on November 27 and April 4. Clippers Release 2023-24 Schedule

– ESPN and TNT to Televise Group Play Games on Tuesdays and Fridays in November –

NEW YORK,&nbsp;Aug. 15, 2023 – The NBA today released its&nbsp;complete game schedule&nbsp;and&nbsp;national television matchups&nbsp;for Group Play of the inaugural&nbsp;NBA In-Season Tournament, which will tip off on Friday, Nov. 3 during the 2023-24 regular season.

The complete game schedule and national broadcast schedule for the 2023-24 regular season will be announced on Thursday, Aug. 17.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Group Play games, the first of two stages in the In-Season Tournament, will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays in November.&nbsp; On these “Tournament Nights,” the only NBA games scheduled will be Group Play games.&nbsp;&nbsp;

ESPN and TNT will combine to air 14 games during Group Play.&nbsp; The first Tournament Night (Nov. 3) will feature a doubleheader on ESPN as the New York Knicks visit the Milwaukee Bucks (7:30 p.m. ET) and the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets host the Dallas Mavericks (10 p.m. ET).&nbsp; TNT will begin its Group Play broadcasts on Tuesday, Nov. 14, when the San Antonio Spurs visit the Oklahoma City Thunder (7:30 p.m. ET) and the Nuggets take on the LA Clippers in Denver (10 p.m. ET).&nbsp;&nbsp;

The national television schedule for Group Play includes three rematches from the 2023 NBA Playoffs.&nbsp; The reigning Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat will visit the Knicks on Friday, Nov. 24 (7:30 p.m. ET/ESPN) and host the Bucks on Tuesday, Nov. 28 (7:30 p.m. ET/TNT), and the Golden State Warriors will visit the Sacramento Kings on Nov. 28 (10 p.m. ET/TNT).

NBA TV’s live game coverage of Group Play will consist of a doubleheader on Friday, Nov. 24, with the Orlando Magic hosting the Boston Celtics (2:30 p.m. ET) and the Phoenix Suns visiting the Memphis Grizzlies (5 p.m. ET).&nbsp;

Each team will play four designated Group Play games from Nov. 3-28 – one game against each opponent in its group, with two games at home and two games on the road.&nbsp; As&nbsp;previously announced, all 30 teams have been randomly drawn into groups of five within their conference based on win-loss records from the 2022-23 regular season.&nbsp; The groups are below:

Eight teams (four per conference) will advance from Group Play into the second stage of the In-Season Tournament, the Knockout Rounds.&nbsp; The advancing teams will be the six group winners and two “wild cards” (the team from each conference with the best record in Group Play games that finished second in its group).&nbsp; The tiebreaker procedures are available&nbsp;here.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Knockout Rounds will consist of single-elimination games in the Quarterfinals (Monday, Dec. 4 and Tuesday, Dec. 5), Semifinals (Thursday, Dec. 7) and Championship (Saturday, Dec. 9).&nbsp; The national broadcast schedule for the Knockout Rounds will be announced at a later date.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Quarterfinals will be played in NBA team markets.&nbsp; The Semifinals and Championship will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with tickets on sale now at&nbsp;NBAEvents.com.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The 67 games across both stages of the In-Season Tournament will count toward the regular-season standings except the Championship.&nbsp; Each team will continue to play 82 regular-season games in the 2023-24 season, including those games that are part of Group Play and the Knockout Rounds.

Each of the 22 teams that do not advance to the Quarterfinals of the In-Season Tournament will be assigned two regular-season games (one home game and one away game) that will be played on Wednesday, Dec. 6 and Friday, Dec. 8.&nbsp; A formulaic approach will determine the matchups for these 22 games using the Group Play standings in each conference (fifth through 15th).

Two of the 22 games will be scheduled cross-conference because there will be an odd number of teams in each conference that do not advance to the Quarterfinals.&nbsp; These cross-conference games will be scheduled between bottom-finishing teams in Group Play subject to travel constraints, and no team will play more than one of its two games cross-conference.&nbsp; The other 20 games will be scheduled within conference featuring teams that are otherwise scheduled to play each other three times over the course of the season wherever possible.

The losing teams in the Quarterfinals in each conference will play each other in a regular-season game on Dec. 8.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

NBA Announces Group Play Schedule for Inaugural In-Season Tournament

The LA Clippers have acquired forward Kenyon Martin Jr. in a five-team deal, announced Lawrence Frank, Clippers president of basketball operations. As part of the deal, the Clippers sent two future second-round picks to the Houston Rockets.&nbsp;

“KJ is a talented young player who brings athleticism and energy to our frontcourt,” said Frank. “He is also a tough competitor and a wing defender who will be a lob threat as well as a presence on the glass. We’re excited to add him to our roster.”

Martin Jr., 22, appeared in 82 games for the Rockets last season, averaging career-highs in points (12.7), rebounds (5.5), assists (1.5) and FG% (56.9). Martin Jr. was one of 10 players in the NBA this season to play in all 82 games. The Gardena, Calif., native holds career averages of 10.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 206 appearances across three NBA seasons with the Rockets. Selected 52nd overall in 2020, Martin Jr. was named to the NBA G League All-Rookie Team in 2021. The 6-foot-7 forward is the son of former NBA player Kenyon Martin, who played for the Clippers during the 2011-12 season.

The LA Clippers have re-signed center Mason Plumlee, announced Lawrence Frank, Clippers president of basketball operations. &nbsp;Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

“Mason made an immediate imprint last season with his playmaking, finishing and feel for the game,” said Frank. “He is a selfless, dependable teammate who consistently excels in his role. We’re grateful to have him back.”&nbsp;

Plumlee, 33, appeared in 23 games for the Clippers after a midseason acquisition from the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 7.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists. The 7-foot center set career-highs last season in total points (857), rebounds (700) and FG% (68.0).

Originally selected with the 22nd overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Plumlee has appeared in 740 games with the Brooklyn Nets, Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Hornets and Clippers, averaging 8.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 59.5% from the field. The Fort Wayne, Ind., native has also appeared in 65 career playoff games and was named to the 2013-14 All-Rookie First Team.&nbsp;

The LA Clippers have re-signed guard Russell Westbrook, announced Lawrence Frank, Clippers president of basketball operations. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.&nbsp;

“In the two months Russ spent with the team, he was everything we hoped he would be and more,” said Frank. “He made a huge impact on the court, with his play, and off it, with the urgency, intensity and professionalism he brings to the gym on a daily basis.”

Westbrook, 34, appeared in 21 games for the Clippers last season, averaging 15.8 points, 7.6 assists and 4.9 rebounds while shooting 48.9% from the floor. The 6-foot-3 guard also appeared in five postseason contests for the Clippers, leading the team in total points (118), assists (37), blocked shots (7) and steals (6). The 14-year NBA veteran has appeared in 1,094 games and holds career averages of 22.4 points, 8.4 assists, 7.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers.

A Los Angeles native, Westbrook was the 2016-17 Most Valuable Player. He is a nine-time All-NBA honoree (two first-team selections), nine-time NBA All-Star, two-time All-Star Game MVP (2015, 2016), two-time NBA scoring champion, 2012 Olympic gold medalist with the United States and a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. Originally selected by the Seattle SuperSonics with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft out of UCLA, Westbrook is the NBA’s all-time leader in triple-doubles (198) and ranks ninth on the all-time assists list (9,162).

The LA Clippers have announced their roster for NBA 2K24 Summer League 2023 in Las Vegas, which takes place Friday, July 7, through Monday, July 17.Led by coach Dahntay Jones, the Summer League team will feature Clippers draft choices Kobe Brown (30th overall) and Jordan Miller (48th overall), along with returning Clippers Moussa Diabaté, Jason Preston, Xavier Moon and Keaton Wallace.The first Summer League media availability for the Clippers will be held at Honey Training Center on Saturday, July 1, at approximately 1:15 p.m. and will feature Coach Jones, Kobe Brown and Jordan Miller. On Wednesday, July 5, availability will feature Moussa Diabaté, Xavier Moon and Jason Preston. LA Clippers Announce Summer League Roster

The LA Clippers selected University of Miami forward Jordan Miller with the 48th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

“Jordan is a tough wing defender and a crafty scorer,” said Lawrence Frank, Clippers president of basketball operations. “He is a slasher, a connector and a glue guy who does what the team needs. He also has an infectious, upbeat personality. We’re excited to add him to the team.”

Miller, 23, averaged 15.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 54.5% from the floor during his senior season at Miami. The 6-foot-7 forward helped the Hurricanes to a Final Four appearance, earning NCAA Tournament All-Region Team honors after scoring 27 points in the Elite Eight. During his collegiate career, Miller averaged 12.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals in 142 appearances with Miami and George Mason. Born in Anaheim, Calif., Miller was named to the All-ACC and All-ACC Tournament Second Team in 2023.
