Bulls Name Forman Director of Player Personnel

In his new position, Forman will be directly responsible for the coordination of the Bulls amateur and professional scouting operations. He will oversee the scouting of college, high school and international prospects.

Forman will also be charged with implementing a pro player personnel scouting plan, focusing on assisting Paxson in the evaluation of free agents and prospective trade acquisitions.

"Gar has been an invaluable resource for me as I have made this transition," said Paxson. "His knowledge of the scouting scene and hard work are great assets to the Chicago Bulls organization."

Forman is currently in his sixth season with the Bulls. He joined the club as a scout in 1998, a position he held until June 2002, when he was promoted to Special Assistant to Executive V.P.-Basketball Operations.

Prior to joining the Bulls, Forman was an assistant coach/recruiting coordinator on the collegiate level, with stops at Iowa State, New Mexico State and Cal Poly Pomona from 1985-98. He was head coach at College of the Desert (Palm Desert, Calif.) from 1983-85, after being promoted from an assistant coach.
