Carlik Jones Named 2022-23 Kia NBA G League Most Valuable Player

The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, announced today that Chicago Bulls guard Carlik Jones has been named the 2022-23 Kia NBA G League Most Valuable Player. He earned the honor in a vote by the league’s 30 head coaches and general managers.

Jones averaged an NBA G League-high 26.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.7 steals during his 24 regular season games for the Windy City Bulls. An NBA G League Next Up Game selection during NBA All Star Weekend in Salt Lake City, Jones recorded seven games with at least 30 points this season, including a career-high 46 points in a win over Lakeland on January 6.

The Cincinnati native started off the month of February scoring 40 points against Wisconsin, helping the Bulls earn a 20-point comeback win over the Herd. He was named G League Player of the Month for February after leading Windy City to a 6-2 record.

Jones, who played collegiately at Radford and Louisville, began the season on a G League contract before signing a NBA Two-Way contract with Chicago in December. He then earned the opportunity to sign a standard NBA contract with the Bulls in March.

The Windy City Bulls recently completed its sixth season as members of the NBA G League and Jones is the franchise’s first-ever league MVP.
