Bulls Re-Sign Zach LaVine

The Chicago Bulls announced today that the team has re-signed guard Zach LaVine. In accordance with team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. 

Since arriving in Chicago, LaVine (6-5, 202, 3/10/95) has been selected an NBA All-Star twice (2021, 2022), and won a gold medal with Team USA in the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo. His 24.5 ppg scoring average with the Bulls ranks second in franchise history trailing only Michael Jordan (31.5 ppg). He also sits third in team annals with 731 three-pointers made (Kirk Hinrich: 1,049; Ben Gordon: 770), and ninth in three-point shooting at .389.

His work ethic and character have helped him to become one of the top players in the NBA,” said Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Artūras Karnišovas. “We look forward to more great things from Zach, as he helps lead our team, both on and off of the court.”

Last season with the Bulls, LaVine appeared in 67 contests and posted 24.4 ppg (12th in the NBA), 4.6 rpg and 4.5 apg in 34.7 mpg. In those games, he shot .476 from the field, .389 from behind the arc and .853 from the line. Acquired from Minnesota on June 22, 2017, he has played in 272 games with the Bulls, and averaged 24.4 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 4.4 apg and 1.00 spg in 34.1 mpg during his time in the Windy City.

Originally selected by the Timberwolves in the first round (13th overall) of the 2014 NBA Draft, LaVine has played in 478 NBA regular-season contests (391 starts) with Minnesota and Chicago. For his career, he owns averages of 19.8 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 3.9 apg and 0.89 spg in 31.8 mpg. He also holds career shooting averages of .461 from the field, .386 from three-point range, and .830 from the stripe.
