Warriors 2022-23 Roster in Review

Highlighting the Accomplishments of Each Warrior This Season

The Warriors roster had numerous highlights during the 2022-23 season, including an All-NBA performer (Stephen Curry), All-Defensive team member (Draymond Green), leader in 3-pointers made (Klay Thompson) and a player who led the league in several rebounding categories throughout the regular season and playoffs (Kevon Looney). Curry, Thompson and Jordan Poole also broke a record the Dubs previously set for the most threes made by a trio (788) in NBA history (previously set by Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green when they made 778 threes in the 2015-16 season).

STEPHEN CURRY
During the regular season, Stephen Curry led the league in made threes per game (4.9) and earned Second-Team All-NBA for his franchise-record ninth All-NBA team selection (First Team four times, Second Team four times, Third Team once). Curry averaged 29.4 points (ranking seventh) on 49.3 percent from the field, 42.7 percent from three (ranking seventh) and 91.5 percent from the free throw line (ranking third), finishing just 0.7 field goal percentage points shy of his second career 50-40-90 season. 

In the playoffs, Curry scored the most points (396), made the most field goals (145) and most threes (57) through the first two rounds. He also became the first player in NBA playoff history to score 50 points in a Game 7, which he did in a 120-100 victory against the Sacramento Kings in the first round.

KLAY THOMPSON
Klay Thompson became the NBA's 3-point king for the 2022-23 regular season, making a league-best 301 threes. Thompson is one of three players in NBA history to make at least 300 threes in a season, joining fellow Splash Brother Stephen Curry and James Harden. In addition, for the first time in his career, Thompson averaged 25-plus points in consecutive months, averaging 27.0 points in January and 25.5 points in February.   

Thompson scored his 2023 playoff-high 30 points in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers and hit eight 3-pointers for the sixth time in his playoff career, more than any other player in NBA postseason history.

DRAYMOND GREEN 
Draymond Green has the most All-Defensive team selections in Warriors franchise history (8), making Second-Team All-Defense in the 2022-23 season. In addition, Green finished tied for third with LeBron James in assists per game among non-guards (6.8), only trailing Nikola Jokic (9.8) and Domantas Sabonis (7.3). Green ranked 13th overall in assists per game and 13th in plus-minus (+346). 

Green's two highest-scoring games of the season and since December 25. 2019 came in these playoffs when he scored 21 points in Game 5 of the first-round series against the Kings and 20 points in Game 5 vs. the Lakers in the Western Conference Semifinals.

KEVON LOONEY
Kevon Looney was a rebounding machine this season, leading the league in offensive rebounds (274) and seventh in total rebounds (760) during the regular season. Through two rounds of the postseason, Looney ranked first in total rebounds (170), first in offensive rebounds (61) and second in rebounds per game (13.1). Looney had four games with 20-plus rebounds and set a career-high grabbing 23 rebounds in Game 1 of the second-round series against the Lakers. Playing back-to-back full seasons without missing a game (regular season or playoffs), he has now played in 228 consecutive games (regular season and playoffs combined).

ANDREW WIGGINS
During the regular season, Andrew Wiggins shot a career-high 53.0 percent from 2-point range and 39.6 percent from three on a career-high 6.1 attempts. Unfortunately, his regular season was cut short, playing in 37 of 82 possible games. However, Wiggins returned just in time for the playoffs, playing in all 13 playoff games and averaging a career-playoff-high 16.7 points.

JORDAN POOLE
Jordan Poole had a career year during the regular season, setting career-highs in points (team-high 1,675), points per game (20.4), field goals made (550), 3-pointers made (214), free throws made (361), assists (369), steals (63) and games played (82). In addition, Poole joined Splash Brothers Curry and Thompson for the most made threes by a trio in NBA history (788), surpassing Curry, Thompson and Green in 2015-16 (778). Thanks to this trio, the Warriors were the only team this season with multiple players in the top 10 in 3-pointers made (Poole ranked ninth). They joined James Harden, Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson of the 2016-17 Houston Rockets as the second trio in NBA history to have each player eclipse 200 threes in a season.

GARY PAYTON II
After winning a championship with the Warriors last season, Gary Payton II began the season on the Portland Trail Blazers before being traded back to the Bay at the trade deadline. Payton played only seven regular season games with the Dubs in 2022-23 but made his presence felt in the postseason. Among qualifiers, Payton had the highest 2-point field goal percentage through two rounds of the playoffs (82.1 percent). He had three playoff starts, including a memorable Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals, in which he made a career playoff high seven field goals and tied his playoff high with 15 points.

DONTE DIVINCENZO
In his first season with the Warriors, Donte DiVincenzo had a career year, averaging career highs in 3-point percentage (39.7 percent), effective field goal percentage (57.4) and games played (72). He also had the second-most starts of his career (36), only trailing his 66 starts in the Bucks’ 2020-21 championship season.

MOSES MOODY
Moses Moody appeared in 63 regular season games for the Dubs, averaging 4.8 points in 13.0 minutes per contest. Moody was efficient when given the opportunity, shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from three. 

In the playoffs, Moody set several milestones, scoring his playoff career-high 13 points on 4-for-7 shooting in Game 2 of the first round series against the Kings. In Game 2 of the second round series against the Lakers, he received a playoff career-high 26 minutes, scoring 10 points, grabbing seven rebounds and was a plus-27 in a 27-point victory.

JONATHAN KUMINGA
Jonathan Kuminga is another second-year player that showed promise this season. In the nine games this season that he played at least 30 minutes, Kuminga averaged 17.7 points per game on 57.4 percent from the field and scored at least 15 points in seven of those contests. Kuminga had five 20-plus point games, including two season high-tying 24-point performances. He scored in double figures in 32 of 67 games played.

JAMYCHAL GREEN
JaMychal Green shot 54.0 percent from the field this season, his highest field goal percentage since 2014-15, when he shot 57.4 percent. In the playoffs, Green made two starts, most notably scoring 15 points and hitting three 3-pointers in a Game 2 victory over the Lakers in the second round.

TY JEROME
Ty Jerome was a two-way player for the Warriors this season, appearing in 45 games and averaging 6.9 points on 48.8 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from three. Jerome had 11 games with double-digit points and scored 20-plus points twice.

ANTHONY LAMB
Anthony Lamb was a two-way player for most of the season before his two-way deal was converted to a standard NBA contract on March 17. Lamb's best game of the season came on Jan. 7. against the Orlando Magic, when he recorded career highs in points (26) and field goals made (9) while tying his career-high in 3-pointers made (5). Lamb also partook in his first playoff run, coming off the bench in eight of 13 games.

ANDRE IGUODALA
Andre Iguodala completed his 19th NBA season (eighth with the Warriors), second-most among active players, trailing only LeBron James and Udonis Haslem who are each in their 20th season. Iguodala played in eight regular season games, averaging 2.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists.

PATRICK BALDWIN JR. 
Patrick Baldwin Jr. split his time in the NBA and the G-league during his rookie season, playing in 31 NBA games and 20 G-league games. Baldwin Jr.'s best game in the NBA came on Dec. 21. when he recorded career highs in points (17), field goals made (6), 3-pointers made (5) and minutes played (23). In the G-league, Baldwin Jr. averaged 12.8 points and 5.7 rebounds in 26.7 minutes per game.

LESTER QUINONES
Lester Quiones went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft but signed with the Warriors on a two-way contract late in the season. Quiones appeared in four NBA games, averaging 2.5 points in limited minutes. However, in the G-league, with the Santa Cruz Warriors, Quiones was named G League Most Improved Player, averaging 21.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 32.0 minutes per game. He played in 31 games with Santa Cruz, all starts and was named G League Player of the Week twice. His best performance of the season came on March 15., when he scored a season-high 46 points in a victory over the Salt Lake City Stars.

RYAN ROLLINS
Ryan Rollins was the 44th pick of the 2022 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks and was traded on draft night to the Warriors. Rollins played 12 games for the Warriors this season, averaging 1.9 points in 5.2 minutes. He also played 19 games with Santa Cruz, averaging 19.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists in 25.6 minutes per game. He recorded two double-doubles and one triple-double, when he had 22 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists on Dec. 9. against the South Bay Lakers.
