Klay Thompson and Warriors Catch Fire From Three in Game 2 Victory

Warriors Make 21 3-Pointers in 27-Point Victory

Klay Thompson scored 30 points and hit eight 3-pointers as the Warriors bounced back to win Game 2, defeating the Lakers 127-100 at Chase Center on Thursday. In the victory, the Warriors shot 50 percent from three (21-42), had a 55-40 advantage on the glass, and led by as many as 32 points.

Before Game 2, Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr was confident in his team's ability to bounce back saying:

"We just went through that (0-1 series deficit) being down 2-0 to Sacramento. We lost Game 1 of the Boston series last year in The Finals at home. So this is nothing new for our team. We know what we're capable of and with all the noise out there."

The Warriors are now the 16th straight playoff team to win Game 2 on their homecourt after losing Game 1.

JAMYCHAL GREEN GETS THE START
Allowing the Warriors to space the floor but still have two bigs, Steve Kerr inserted JaMychal Green into the starting lineup, replacing Kevon Looney. Green started in just one game this season (December 7. vs. Utah) and his last postseason start came in Game 6 of the 2019 Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Warriors as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. Kevon Looney wasn't feeling well headed into the game but still attempted to play through an illness, which could have influenced the lineup change.

JaMychal Green shined as a starter, scoring 15 points and hitting three 3-pointers, finishing three points shy of his season-high in scoring (18 points) and one shy of his season-high in threes (4).

BARRAGE OF SECOND-QUARTER SPLASHES
The Warriors opened the second quarter with a 12-2 run to take a three-point lead. During the run, Donte DiVincenzo and Klay Thompson each hit 3-pointers and Stephen Curry capped it off with a layup. In the second quarter, the Warriors made nine threes and outscored the Lakers by 19, 41-22.

Curry's teammates shot 8-for-10 off his passes in the half. Curry had more turnovers (5) than assists (3) in Game 1, but dished out 12 assists with only three turnovers in Game 2.
