Warriors Launch "Plays For The Holidays" Outreach Campaign
Warriors Tip Off Holiday Campaign With Lucky Supermarket Shopping Spree In Alameda Tuesday, November 19

The Golden State Warriors announced today the start of this season’s Plays for the Holidays community outreach campaign as part of the NBA Cares Season of Giving, with the Warriors organization and every Warriors player participating in events this holiday season to help brighten the lives of local families and youth in the Bay Area. To tip off the campaign, the Warriors are hosting the Shop with the Warriors event, where the Warriors and Lucky Supermarket will provide five Bay Area families in need with a holiday food shopping spree at Lucky Supermarket in Alameda on Tuesday, November 19.

Warriors players Festus Ezeli and Klay Thompson, assistant coaches Joe Boylan and Lindsey Hunter, along with KTVU Channel 2 News reporter Sal Castaneda will each partner with one of the five families and go on a shopping spree at Lucky Supermarket to fulfill each family’s grocery needs for the opportunity to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together. The Warriors and Lucky also recently launched their Eat Like Warriors campaign, giving fans special access to some of the Warriors’ favorite foods and what keeps them going off the court.

The Warriors will hold additional Plays for the Holidays events throughout the months of November and December. Upcoming events include a Comcast SportsNet Bay Area Make-A-Wish holiday party where players will host a party for Make-A-Wish youth; a visit to the children at the Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center; a trip to the San Francisco Food Bank, presented by Esurance, to encourage donations and help sort food; holiday food serving at the Oakland Police Activities League; a Holiday Community Basketball Clinic presented by Oracle; community outreach initiatives with PG&E; a Holidays with Harrison event in downtown San Francisco’s adidas store where youth can sign up at warriors.com to shop side-by-side with Warriors forward Harrison Barnes, and more. The Warriors Community Foundation will also host food and toy drives, provide game tickets for at-risk Bay Area youth at upcoming home games and recognize others in the community who give back throughout the year.

The Warriors will also introduce the popular Holiday Hoops ticket packages on Thursday, November 21. Presented by Jamba Juice, these plans will start at just four games and feature marquee match-ups against the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers.
