FIRST HALF HUSTLE
The Warriors jumped out to a 64-56 lead at halftime, however the Nuggets responded with strong showing in the second half, including a 42-point production in the third quarter. 2022 NBA Finals MVP Stephen Curry scored 16 of his 23 points in the first half, adding two rebounds and three assists in 26 minutes of play. Warriors center James Wiseman recorded nine of his 15 points in the opening half, finishing the night with a team-high five rebounds.
PRESEASON ACTION FOR THOMPSON AND GREEN
Klay Thompson and Draymond Green made their 2022 preseason debuts on Friday. Characteristically, Thompson wasted no time on his home hardwood, sinking a trey in the matchup's opening possession and continuing to catch fire from the perimeter with six made 3-pointers on his way to 14 points in 17 minutes of play. Green also brought the energy on both sides of the ball, adding four points, two rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes.
KUMINGA CAN PLAY
Sophomore forward Jonathan Kuminga made a number of big plays down the stretch, posting 19 points, five rebounds and two assists. Kuminga recorded double figures in each of the Dubs’ three preseason home games at Chase Center.
